About the Train the Trainer Course

Overview

The Train the Trainer course is a ten-week online course designed to equip education trainers worldwide with the knowledge, skills, and tools to successfully design and deliver effective and engaging Adobe professional development workshops. Upon course completion, participants will be able to design professional development sessions that empower and inspire students, teachers, and faculty to foster creativity and design innovative digital media.

Throughout the course, participants will

  • examine the importance of creativity in education and hear from fellow educators who are successfully using technology to foster creativity with their students.
  • explore Adobe Education’s free online resources, Adobe's industry-leading products, and engaging Adobe product training activities.
  • review best practices in professional development design.

Weekly Self-Paced Lessons

Course participants will progress through weekly self-paced asynchronous lessons and online discussion forums.

*This schedule serves as a model and a guide. Participants can work through each week's lesson at their own pace.

Webinars

Optional webinars will be offered each Wednesday to provide participants an opportunity to connect with peers, and discuss and process weekly learnings through facilitated discussions. While weekly webinars are optional, they are a great way to network and strategize with other professional development leaders across the globe.

Requirements

In order to successfully complete this course and earn the Adobe Education Trainer credential, participants must complete a weekly assignment and provide weekly peer feedback. Participants must also successfully complete the final assignment. 

Final Assignment

Participants will apply the skills introduced throughout the course to design an effective and engaging professional development session that meets the needs of their particular audience. The final project is intended to be a practical and relevant tool that participants can immediately apply to their professional practice.

Credentials

Upon successful completion of the final assignment and other course requirements, participants will be awarded a digital Adobe Education Trainer credential and will have access to the Adobe Education Trainer Group, an online community on the Adobe Education Exchange, where there will be opportunities to network with peers and have access to an exclusive Adobe Education Trainer tool kit.

Course Workshops
Week 1 Begin the course by reflecting on creativity in education. Explore Adobe Education's free online resources and Adobe's industry-leading products. Examine best practices in adult learning theory and connect with a worldwide network of your peers.
Week 2 Hear from thought leaders on the importance of creativity in the classroom. Learn from fellow educators who are successfully using technology to foster creativity. View a Photoshop training for educators. Examine best practices in technology training.
Week 3 Continue to explore creativity in the classroom. See a fellow educator model a fun and engaging Photoshop activity for students. Learn to write meaningful learning objectives for your professional development sessions.
Week 4 Explore an Illustrator training for educators. Create a learning path for your professional development sessions. Learn from a fellow educator who is leveraging technology to foster creativity in the classroom.
Week 5 View an educator model an engaging Illustrator activity. Examine best practices in teaching and learning to apply to your professional development design. Explore Adobe's free online professional resources that support creativity in the classroom.
Week 6 Dive into InDesign. Learn strategies to incorporate assessments in your professional development sessions. Participate in online discussion forums to reflect on progress toward the final project.
Week 7 See a fellow educator model an engaging InDesign activity. Learn strategies to engage your professional development audience during session delivery. Connect with your peers during the weekly online webinar for on-going feedback of the final project.
Week 8 Explore strategies to foster creativity in the classroom. See another engaging InDesign activity for students. Review strategies for establishing effective learning climates during professional development sessions.
Week 9 See a practical and engaging Acrobat strategy for educators and students. Review professional development implementation procedures. Connect with your peers in discussion forums and the webinar to reflect on progress toward the final project.
Week 10 Submit your final project. Provide feedback on your peers' final projects. Celebrate all of your hard work and each other!
