Tiny Planets: cool collaboration for art students
Posted Oct 4, 2012
Hey Kris, I'm excited for this project! I'll talk about it at the Asia Region Art Educators conference next week and hopefully we'll get you a bunch of planets from this side of the.... planet ;)

Great point! I can see how this project could be used in a number of different ways in fact- certainly it pushes students to investigate further how layers interact with each other.

My colleague just sent me this link: http://www.smartshanghai.com/articles/art/interview-ryszard-horowitz - this photographer is exhibiting in Shanghai now and his work is phenomenal- and great inspiration for our project.

@Teri- I'm familiar with that project :)
@Kris- I think that sounds great! I'll talk to our photo teachers about working on it.
@Therese & Kris- Interesting points! Perhaps instead of taking pictures of their rooms in a way that 'reveals' - they could take pictures of their rooms in ways that conceals... that could be an interesting conceptual project too... Maybe give the student the option to do it either way?

About the book- It wouldn't be available for kindle, its out of print and not very well known even in art ed circles. I've actually never seen a new version for sale on Amazon before, only used copies- amazing what a new out of print book will run you! But I'd grab a used copy, its just a great book with some fantastic ideas.
As for the digital publishing.. interactivity- love it!
