An instruction librarian wrote the script. I corrected/tweaked the script and then sent it out to others in the library for fact checking and suggestions. I used the comments to edit the script again. My unit, myself and four student employees, created the videos. I used basic project management principles to guide us through the video creation phase. I loaded the videos up to YouTube so that they can be accessed via a QR code reader. The instruction librarian purchased the ipods and created the accompanying tour test. The QR codes were developed by our department head.
I taught four library instruction classes today and asked for feedback on the tour. All of the students in the classes said that they were able to load the videos and they felt like the tour was informative.
The HBLL Tour could easily be adapted to a museum setting. Contact me through my profile page if you have any questions. Good luck!
