As an international community - we can share the best of the best places to grow our skill sets. Where do you go to fill your cup with inspiration? I can undoubtedly recommend the Macul conference in Michigan, but what else is noteworthy to attend or participate?

This is a pretty broad question with a lot of possible answers because everyone has their own reasons for attending conferences. W3C - http://www.w3.org/conf/ SXSW - South by Southwest® (SXSW®) ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education - http://www.sigcse.org/ ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing - http://cscw.acm.org/ ISTE - http://www.iste.org/conference/iste-conference

Probably one of the best conferences for a unique hand's on experience with Adobe software is Russell Brown's ADIM 2013: http://www.russellbrown.com/adim2013/

@Bill Guy - I agree. Photoshop World is an amazing experience if you're able to go. NAPP resources in general are well worth the $100/yr and I find that they are very friendly to teachers. http://www.photoshopuser.com.

I also poke around TutsPlus Premium for some interesting projects and tutorials. They often provide source files so I can brush up on my own skills before trying to teach them.

For California people (and beyond) I love CUE conferences. The big one is in Palm Springs in mid-March every year. In NorCal, there is a big event near Napa in October. CUE stands for Computer Using Educators, and is an affiliate of ISTE, which is of course, another fantastic conference!

Next week I will attend / present at Photoshop World, and I can't wait!

I watch Lynda.com videos and Adobe TV on my iPad at night before I go to sleep. And the Exchange, of course!

I went to ISTE this year too. It was my second time so I was prepared. I enjoyed the networking and I was inspired by the keynotes. I also enjoyed the Adobe theatre sessions and won a copy of Acrobat X! If you are looking for general ed tech conferences check out Steve Hargadon’s Global Education Conference Network, http://www.globaleducationconference.com/?xg_source=msg_mes_network. There are a few conferences coming up that you can attend, volunteer, or present at. I discovered met Steve at my first ISTE experience and then presented at one of the online Global conferences. It was a great experience.

I benefit most from the online videos on Adobe TV, webinars available through Adobe User Groups, and these resources on the edexchange.adobe.com These resources are free and there are always people available to help on the forums.

AdobeMax rocks. I also attend the PeP conference through David Blatner (InDesign Secrets.com).

My favorite conference each year is ISTE. I always take away all kinds of inspiration, skills, and ideas for the next school year.

Kelly, I'd love to come to MACUL - I know Ric Wiltse pretty well from my days as Exec. Dir. of the Nebraska Ed. Tech. Assoc. (NETA), but the dates aren't good. I love ISTE for the additional networking time we have together as AELs and what we can continue to learn from each other. At ISTE, sometimes we help each other with workshops...I always learn more that way, and love watching the Adobe theater sessions in the booth. I'd love to be able to go to Photoshop World, but alas, it's too expensive. For independent learning, lynda.com is the best! Ask Daniela or Claire how to "check out" a login to lynda.com (we share a group of logins).
